Hibiscus flowers - Gazing the sky...
Some Hibiscus flowers gazing the sky near Bangalore. Snapped 'em three years ago in 2008, with a friend's Sony Cybershot. Click on the images for a larger preview or to download them as a wallpaper for your desktop.
By the way, Hibiscus is also a primary ingredient in many herbal teas. It is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. It is quite large, containing several hundred species that are native to warm-temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Member species are often noted for their showy flowers and are commonly known as hibiscus, sorrel, and flor de Jamaica, or less widely known as rosemallow. The Hibiscus is used as an offering to goddess Kali and Lord Ganesha in Hindu worship. Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is considered to have a number of medical uses in Chinese herbology. Also, Hibiscus syriacus (a species of Hibiscus) is the national flower of South Korea, while Hibiscus rosa-sinensis (another species of Hibiscus) is the national flower of Malaysia.
So much for now. See you some other time with more images.
